New Project Plan Software to Rival Microsoft Project
Market Wire
LA HABRA, CALIFORNIA -- (Marketwire) -- 11/09/09 --
Project Plan Ltd today announced its intention to release a new software suite, to rival Microsoft Project.
The
Project Planning software is the first of its kind in the market and will allow project managers and teams to create project plans quickly and easily. The software will be downloadable to a user's desktop so that they can plan projects whether or not they are connected to the internet.
"There is nothing quite like it in the market" says Maria Johnson, Marketing Manager for ProjectPlan.com. "We started out by surveying 25,000 project managers to see what they wanted in their ideal
Project Planner toolset. The results were unanimous. People wanted to have all of the commonly used features from Microsoft project, but in a simpler and more intuitive way, and at a fraction of the price. So that's what we set out to build."
The software will go live in December 2009 and when released, will include
Project Scheduling Software features such as the ability to create a Gantt Chart and assign resources to tasks. There are only a handful of such tools available in the market and ProjectPlan.com intends to lead the market from the outset, based on their unique
Project Tracking Software features. The features allow the user to be able to enter actual progress against the plan and then track the actual vs. planned progress graphically. The user can also baseline their project to take a snapshot at a set point in time, and then compare the Actual and Planned progress to the Baseline view. This feature is unique and allows the user to get a clear picture of the progress of the project, at any point in time.
"To build this software, we went out and hired the best Microsoft .net developers we could find" says Johnson. "We were able to build the solution in less than a year, so we will be going live in December 2009 with our new website and downloadable product. Users will be able to try the product for free for 14 days, to allow them to see how it helps them to plan, track and schedule projects better than before. And the product will be priced at a fraction of what it costs to purchase Microsoft Project, so it will be affordable to all project managers and teams in first, second and even third world countries."
Initially the project planning software will be released in English, however in the coming year the team intend to release a multi-language version which will ensure that fast developing continents like Asia, the Middle East and Africa can also use the product in their local languages.
And in the future, the team intend to release a suite of different project planning software editions, so that users can integrate their planning software with other industry standard software for timesheets, accounting, human resources and information technology. In that way, the planning software will become a core business platform for most organizations.
The project planning software is targeted at all industry types and all project sizes, as the features are generic and suit project managers from all backgrounds.
