TriGem USA Appoints Robert Davidson to Executive Management Team
Business Wire
TriGem
USA today announced that Robert Davidson has joined the company as
senior vice president. He will oversee the next stage of growth for
TriGem’s Averatec brand of all-in-one and notebook computers for the
North American market.
“People are at the very heart of the success of TriGem, and to bring in
a person of Bob’s caliber will significantly benefit the continued
growth of TriGem USA,” said Tae-Hyun “Tiger” Cho, chief executive
officer of TriGem USA. “Bob is not a newcomer to TriGem since TriGem was
the founding shareholder of eMachines where Bob was senior vice
president of sales. He has an extensive understanding of the TriGem
culture and the computer consumer. His addition to the TriGem executive
team will enhance the company’s ability to expand its market presence
throughout North America.”
Davidson has more than 25 years of experience in the electronic and
technology sales industry. He began his career with the Federated Group
as a district and regional manager responsible for 50 stores across
Texas and New Mexico.
He also has held district management positions with CompUSA and Best
Buy. After moving from store operations to merchandising Davidson was
promoted to vice president in charge of computer hardware.
Most recently Davidson served as senior vice president for Acer, Gateway
and eMachines, which are all part of the Acer Inc. family of technology
products. During that time, Davidson managed launch activities for the
Gateway brand now under Acer and increased sales from $300 million to
$2.8 billion over a six-year period with a multi-brand strategy. He also
was responsible for increasing retail market share for eMachines from 4
percent to 17 percent in three years.
“TriGem is focused on expansion of the Averatec brand throughout the
North American market,” said Young Min Kim, vice chairman of TriGem
Computer Inc. “As the newest member of our executive management team,
Bob brings strong leadership and extensive experience in the computer
business.”
“As we exit from the current recession, TriGem USA is positioning itself
as a leading brand pegged for expansion within the personal computing
space,” Davidson said. “The company is aggressively focused on capturing
a larger market share for its products by offering significant consumer
value coupled with styling and design options praised by publication
editors and popular with today’s computer buyer.”
