ALISO VIEJO, Calif., Sept. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Networks In Motion (NIM), the award-winning wireless navigation, hyper-local search and location-based services (LBS) company with the largest mobile phone navigation subscriber base in North America, today announced it now supports 10 additional languages and 38 countries, including new countries in European and South American markets. The most aggressive international expansion in the company's history is part of an aggressive effort to increase the global availability of high quality turn-by-turn navigation through carrier and OEM partnerships, as well as via Gokivo, the company's award-winning smartphone application available in the Apple, BlackBerry app stores.
These new capabilities in the NAVBuilder global reference platform will provide NIM's partners around the world with the ability to create their own branded navigation applications. "With our local business information and navigation tools, deciding where to go for dinner and navigating to it is just as easy in Italy as it is at home. We're pleased to offer carriers and consumers around the world with an application that helps them discover new things while in an unfamiliar area, with the comfort of a built in guide to take them there."
NIM supports all major mobile operating systems with customizable versions of the AtlasBook® reference client, and a broad choice of map and data providers in the NAVBuilder platform. NIM has certified the platform in the following 38 countries: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States and Vatican. NAVBuilder and the AtlasBook reference clients are now available to all of NIM's partners, and are currently being used to power leading carrier branded apps. NAVBuilder also powers NIM's Gokivo GPS Navigator, which is available internationally via BlackBerry App World and on the iPhone.
