LDK Solar senior VP of manufacturing resigns

XINYU CITY, China -LDK Solar Co., a Chinese maker of parts for solar cells, said Tuesday that its senior vice president of manufacturing has resigned to pursue personal interests.
Nicola Sarno's last day is Friday.
Sarno's duties overseeing manufacturing operations will be temporarily taken over by President and Chief Operating Officer Xingxue Tong, the company said.
LDK, based in Xinyu City in China's Jiangxi province, said Sarno would continue to support the company in an advisory role as it ramps up use of a polysilicon plant. The company's U.S. office is in Sunnyvale, Calif.
LDK shares fell 9 cents to close Tuesday at $8.35.
