Lazard hires vice chair for Lazard International

NEW YORK -Lazard Ltd. on Tuesday appointed former Treasury Department official Brian D. O'Neill to the newly created position of vice chairman of Lazard International, effective immediately.
O'Neill, 56, will work closely with the investment advisory firm's Central and South America businesses.
O'Neill was most recently a deputy assistant secretary with the U.S. Treasury Department, and is a former head of investment banking for Latin America and Canada at JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Lazard shares fell 45 cents to $38.31 in morning trading.
