KCLS Look to Your Library Effort Named Finalist for National PR Awards
PR Newswire
ISSAQUAH, Wash., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The King County Library System's
Look to Your Library campaign received national attention as a finalist in two categories for the prestigious Nonprofit PR Awards sponsored by George Washington University and PR Web. "Look to Your Library" is the KCLS outreach effort to encourage area residents to use free library resources to help find jobs and improve their employment skills during the economic crisis.
The library's media relations outreach campaign and innovative special Web pages placed KCLS in the ranks of leading corporations, nonprofits, and agencies large and small as finalists for national recognition and top honors in the 2009 Nonprofit PR Awards. Presented by PR News, this highly competitive program showcases the most talented communicators and teams in the nonprofit sector.
The awards were judged by a blue-chip panel that includes PR executives from corporations, agencies, nonprofits and associations, and leading educators and industry consultants. Winners will be announced at a November 3 awards luncheon at the National Press Club in Washington, DC, and in the Nonprofit Awards Special Issue of PR News in November. Community Relations and Marketing Director Julie Brand Williams and Public Relations Specialist Marsha Iverson will be on hand to receive Finalist awards, and possibly higher honors.
