Insyde Software (GTSM: 6231), a leading provider of UEFI BIOS and engineering services today unveiled Humanos, an instant-on software environment aimed at notebooks and netbooks running Microsoft Windows. Humanos, built on Google’s Android technology and Insyde Software’s Quick-to-Launch UEFI software, gives mobile PC users access to a broad and quickly expanding set of Android applications in an instantly available operating environment.

Android, originally designed for mobile phones, is an open source and fully customizable platform that is exploding in popularity on mobile devices. Based on Android, Humanos gives mobile computer users similar instant-on access to an evolving set of functionality, mobility and entertainment.

In mid-October this year, Acer, Inc. released versions of their hugely successful “Aspire One” netbook with a dual-boot configuration supporting both Microsoft ^® Windows ^® and Android. Android provides quick access to the internet, and will run the many applications available from Insyde Market™. Insyde Market ( www.insydemarket.com), the first Google Android online application market created exclusively for netbook computers, was launched by Insyde Software at the end of October.
