AP
ARMONK, N.Y. -Computer giant IBM Corp. on Monday named Boeing CEO W. James McNerney Jr. to its board.
McNerney, 60, is also chairman and president of The Boeing Co. He assumed his current posts at Boeing in 2005.
The election of McNerney boosts the size of IBM's board to 13 members.
Previously, McNerney was chairman and CEO of 3M. He also had served in executive positions at the General Electric Co., including as president and CEO of GE Aircraft Engines and GE Lighting, IBM said in a release.
McNerney is also a director of Procter & Gamble, and he serves as a trustee of Northwestern University and The Field Museum of Chicago.
Shares of IBM slipped 21 cents to $119.90 in after hours trading, after falling 25 cents during the regular session.
