Himfr Analyst: iPhone Will Promote Chinese Smartphone Market Development

BEIJING, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- Himfr.com, one of China's leading B2B search platforms with more than 30 B2B industry websites to its name, forecasts that the iPhone will promote the Chinese smartphone market development.

Himfr pointed out that the global smartphone shipment volume is expected to grow by 184 million units in 2009 and 235 million units in 2010, a growth of up to 27 percent. In 2011, it will grow to 334 million sets, a growth of 41 percent. In 2008, the global smart phone growth rate was 20 percent. With the global economic recession in 2009, it is expected to slow to 11.6 percent.

Himfr's analyst has said that the phone's arrival will force rivals China Unicom and China Mobile to launch smartphone products and applications, and all this will help to promote China's smartphone market development.

The analyst estimates that in 2010, China's smartphone shipment volume will be larger than in 2009 at 212 million units, a growth of 42 percent, which make China the fastest-growing country. In the next few years, China's smartphone shipment volume will grow much faster than any other country's.

The analyst has said that the smartphone market has grown from the past initial period of time and entered a new stage. This presents enormous opportunities for development for equipment manufacturers, service providers, semiconductor suppliers, platform supplier industries and other such key vendors.
