Medicare fraud suspect caught after 2 years on lam

MIAMI -A Miami man accused of bilking Medicare out of millions of dollars has been arrested in Ecuador two years after he allegedly fled.
Federal authorities found Fermin Rey, a Santeria high priest, last week in Quito. He was indicted in 2007 as the owner of clinics that bilked Medicare out of $5.2 million in bogus medical equipment claims.
Rey fled shortly after the indictment. Rey's case is among those that have caused judges to rethink bond for Medicare fraud suspects in South Florida because it is easy to flee. Of South Florida's 50 fugitives in health care fraud, authorities say dozens have fled to Cuba.
Rey's trial is scheduled for March. A telephone call to his lawyer was not immediately returned Tuesday.

This healthcare reform is a must passed... That's why it is called "REFORM" to fix the OLD-CORRUPT Healthcare Systems. And the fvcking RepubliCvnt are doing everything in their manipulative lying powers to keep the old CORRUPT system the way it is...~~~~~~~~How many times do the Democrats have to do something before they get it right? They designed a program called Medicare, it's going broke (now we can see why). They designed a program called Medicaid and it's being fleeced for millions every year, now they want to try a third time with Obamacare. If you owned a car that kept getting recalled, would you buy another one designed by the same people?

Just another entity run amok. Eight years of not regulating anything. Didn't that work out well?~~~~~~It has taken 12 months but I have come to the conclusion Liberals are morons. As their house is falling down around their ears, they forget how poorly it was designed by the Democrats, how poorly it was built by the Democrats but will complain about the Republicans not maintaining it or repairng ******** very typical of the Liberals to implement a program, poorly designed, poorly financed and poorly run, and then blame the Republicans because it didn't work.
