GE Aviation buys navigation services company
AP
NEW YORK -GE Aviation, the jet engine manufacturing arm of General Electric Co., said Monday it has acquired Naverus Inc., a privately owned supplier of performance-based navigation services.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Naverus is headquartered in Kent, Wash. and has about 60 employees.
GE said in a statement that Naverus' required navigation performance (RNP) technology expands its group of air traffic management service solutions.
The company said Naverus' RNP technology can help airlines reduce flight time, carbon emissions and community noise on both approach and departure.
General Electric is based in Fairfield, Conn.
