FireSafe Montana Joins Farmers Insurance for a First-Ever Montana Wildfire Awareness Week Announcement
You are cordially invited to the Farmers Insurance/FireSafe Montana “Wildfire Awareness Week” press conference June 18, 2009
Business Wire
Fire season is here, and with dry weather comes the threat of wildfires.
That is why Farmers Insurance and FireSafe Montana will conduct a
first-ever
press conference in front of the State Capital on June 18, 2009 at 10:00
a.m. to announce Fire Prevention Week in Montana.
“The purpose of the Fire Prevention Week is to get the word out to every
citizen of Montana that fire season is here, and we want you to be
prepared,” stated Jeff Robinson, Montana State Executive Director.
“Farmers
and FireSafe Montana, an organization devoted to educating and helping
prepare homeowners and their families against the ravages of fires, will
continue to work together to help Montana residents stay prepared for
future fire disasters.”
“Farmers will present a contribution to FireSafe Montana to help
continue its fire prevention work throughout the rest of 2009,”
explained Dwight Easton, Farmers Montana Government Affairs
Representative.
“We have prepared a packet of fire prevention materials with information
about brush clearance, fire retardant materials, landscaping fire safe
and an inventory brochure that can be used to inventory every item in
your house. It is a vital document should you unfortunately lose your
home to a fire,” Easton added.
"This is a very important event that recognizes the collaboration that
is taking place and all the hard work local FireSafe councils are doing
in their communities,” stated Crystal Hagerman, Executive Director of
FireSafe Montana. "Without local FireSafe councils, FireSafe Montana's
members, insurance agencies, contractors, fire fighting agencies, BLM,
DNRC, USFS and many more supporters FireSafe Montana would not be here
today."
The fire prevention packets are available at Farmers Insurance agents’
offices throughout the state. Anyone wanting a copy should just contact
the nearest Farmers agent and order one.
