Cristie Kerr, Professional Golf's $10 Million Woman, Swings Fashion and Philanthropy Into VIVmag's 'Giving Back' Issue
- Like You've Never Seen Her Before, LPGA Pro Takes on Breast Cancer in Style -
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Nov. 3
/PRNewswire/ --
Cristie Kerr is recognized as one of the top women professional golfers in the world, as well one of the most charitable advocates for breast cancer awareness and treatment. Now, she can add "fashion model" to her repertoire with today's launch of the November/December 2009 issue of
VIVmag (
vivmag.com/cristiekerr
). The first digital-only luxury magazine for women unveils its third annual "Giving Back" edition, in which the 32 year-old, athlete-philanthropist-fashionista shares intimate details about her professional career, family and love of fashion.
"Golf is an obvious love of mine, but I have a number of other passions in my life -- including fashion -- which I know is shared among
VIVmag women," said Cristie Kerr. "I am honored to be on the cover of
VIVmag's annual 'Giving Back' issue because advocating for breast cancer awareness is a cause very close to my heart -- an important message that will resonate with their readers who also are committed to wellness and awareness."
Shot for
VIVmag's cover at Noho Studios in New York City, Kerr posed in classic black cocktail dresses from
Prada and
Proenza Schouler, and wore jewelry from
Roberto Cavalli and
David Yurman and her own watches from
Audemars Piguet,
for which she has been a brand ambassador since 2006. Among "Cristie's Favorites" featured in the article's sidebar, she listed as her dress watch of choice,
Audemars Piguet's Lady Royal Oak Offshore with diamonds; for jewelry,
David Yurman's crossover silver ice with diamonds; for casual apparel,
Lacoste; for high-end designers,
Roberto Cavalli and
Oscar de la Renta; and for handbag designer,
Devi Kroell.
"Selecting Cristie Kerr for the cover of
VIVmag's annual 'Giving Back' issue was an easy decision," said Anne M. Russell, editor in chief,
VIVmag. "Especially during the holidays, many people become so consumed with the frenzy of the season that they lose sight about what is really important: the spirit of generosity and giving. Cristie is a beautiful reminder -- both inside and out -- for what the holidays are truly about by offering interactive insight and advice to inspire and motivate us."
When she is not honing her winning style sense, the championship athlete and charitable crusader has spent much of her time working on various television and film projects and developing her own wine. Kerr appeared on
Donald Trump's television series
The Apprentice and she's been dabbling in Hollywood as an investor in a comedy called
Paper Man starring
Ryan Reynolds,
Lisa Kudrow and
Joss Stone. She also is supporting a documentary project called "The People Speak," based on the work of historian Howard Zinn, featuring
Matt Damon,
Viggo Mortensen,
Josh Brolin and
Marisa Tomei. Kerr's wine, Curvature, is due out in the next couple of weeks.
