Coke to begin selling smaller cans
AP
ATLANTA -Coca-Cola Co. said Wednesday it will begin selling new, smaller 90-calorie cans of Coke, Sprite and other sodas for consumers who don't want all the 140 calories in a regular-size can.
The new can holds 7.5 ounces compared with the normal 12-ounce can. It will be sold first in New York and Washington, D.C., starting in December, with a national rollout to follow by March 2010.
The Atlanta-based soft drink seller, the world's biggest, plans to also sell smaller cans of its Sprite, Fanta Orange, Cherry Coca-Cola and Barq's Root Beer sodas.
