TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 11/05/09 -- The board of directors of Breakwater Resources Ltd. (TSX: BWR)(TSX: BWR.WT.A) announced today that David M. Petroff has been appointed to the position of President and Chief Executive Officer to replace George Pirie who has resigned from the Company, effective immediately.

The board of directors would like to take this opportunity to thank George for his contributions to the Company and wish him well in his future endeavours.
