BMC Software Chairman and CEO Speaks on Public Sector IT: “Expectations Have Never Been Higher”

Speaking to more than 600 public sector IT leaders late last week, BMC Software (NASDAQ:BMC) chairman and chief executive officer Bob Beauchamp championed the critical role that IT plays in key government initiatives.

“Clearly, the White House announcement that federal IT spending will remain flat through 2011 means federal agencies must do far more with less. This mandate has increased the already sizeable government agency interest in cloud computing, datacenter automation and consolidation,” said Beauchamp.

“Around the world, businesses are investing now in IT strategy and infrastructure so that they can lead the market when economic conditions improve,” he continued. “Governments are no different. The future success of their plans and priorities – ranging from job creation to national security to infrastructure renewal – is highly dependent on executing a new vision of IT and how technology can better serve people.”
