ACUTRONIC USA Announces Formation of Inertial Testing Business Unit
PR Newswire
PITTSBURGH, Nov. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- ACUTRONIC USA today announced the formation of a new business unit,
ACUTRONIC iTS
, focused on providing turnkey inertial testing products and services.
The growth of inertial devices in the micro-electro-mechanical-systems (MEMS) market is creating an increasing need for testing of these devices. Responding to this need, the new business unit will provide inertial testing services and turnkey automated test equipment (ATE) for testing of inertial devices, components, and modules.
ACUTRONIC today offers the sector's most comprehensive suite of precision rate tables for the aerospace and defense industry, as well as high-precision and high-dynamic hardware-in-the-loop flight motion simulators. The new business unit will provide turnkey testing services for inertial devices such as accelerometers, gyros, inertial measurement units, etc. Customers will also have access to test facility rate tables and equipment in order to perform their own testing. In addition, the new business unit will develop complete turnkey ATE inertial testing solutions for those customers who wish to bring their testing in-house.
Commenting on this new unit, Dominique Schinabeck, ACUTRONIC USA Chairman and CEO, said: "This business unit will build on our core competency of precision motion and our successes in the aerospace and defense markets. We are excited about its tremendous potential and expect it to contribute significantly to the future growth of the company."
In support of this new strategy, Larry Zana has been appointed Vice President, MEMS Inertial Testing. He is a seasoned technology executive experienced in a number of high-tech industries, including biotech, robotics, precision motion control and MEMS. In his new role, Mr. Zana will oversee all aspects of the newly formed business unit.
